The Marquis de Sade Had Reason !

No, this post will not have any pornographic or sadistic content.. better yet.. and oddly enough.. this post is all about Religion and God.. or the lack of it…
I do not agree with the Marquis de Sade’s atheist beliefs.. I do not read his Sadistic erotica, at-least not yet.. but I am greatly intrigued by his passion and ability to express himself.. when spending almost 30 years in jail and in mental asylums, for no concrete conviction, he did not stop writing or expressing himself.. he continued to write his work and managed to publish a few while behind bars.. and when he was deprived from his ink and paper he continued to write on his chamber walls with his own blood.. and when he dried up and was unable to excrete anymore blood.. he used his own stool.. disturbingly passionate..
I may not agree to his beliefs, I may not be aroused by his Sadist writing.. but I do find his reason and philosophy quite logical in his work:

i dont agree with his veiws but i did like it when he said “you need only have a good heart..”

but seriously,
any person who trully belives that they are right, will do what ever they can to express and withhold his/her emotions and feelings
and thats what kept him going

While I have never been aroused by his writings I have been moved and at times they have been deeply thought provoking. You know I recently had a discussion of The Marquis after watching Quills with a friend. In those days he was considered a nut case, evil etc yadda yadda blah. You know today he would’ve been a best selling author.
wow, gr8 piece! I went ahead and read the whole thing and i must say me likey alot!! on a lighter note when i read this “man today, worm tomorrow,” i couldnt help but laugh at the idea of using this when trying to be over philosophical when asked to explain the reason behind choosing my nick =P
